Beastmaster — hero grid for mains

Every Dota client, Russian included, shows the name Beastmaster. Short names for Beastmaster you will see in chat: “bm”. On Russian servers you will hear “Бистмастер” (or “бм” and “бист”).

Valve sums the hero up in one line: “Summons beasts to aid his hunt”.

The site's “Choose a hero” window finds Beastmaster by any of “Beastmaster”, “Бистмастер” and “bm”.

Beastmaster is a Universal hero (22 of them in the game), melee, complexity 2 of 3 by Valve's rating.

Role dots from Valve: Disabler ●●○, Durable ●●○, Initiator ●●○, Nuker ●○○ — no role at the full three.

In the ready layouts that means the “UNIVERSAL” (5th of 22) block of By attributes and the “MEDIUM” (4th of 59) band of By complexity.

Beastmaster is offlane (3) first of all, with mid at 0.41 as the fallback. All five scores (best = 1): carry 0.11 · mid 0.41 · offlane 1 · soft support 0.22 · hard support 0 — which is why the editor's Auto-pick places Beastmaster in the “3 · OFFLANE” row and nowhere else.

Median gold per minute for Beastmaster is 527, experience 721 — between support (360) and core (540), a supportness of 0.18 by the site's formula; by lane, 758 parsed OpenDota matches as of 23 Sept 2026 split 7% safe, 25% mid and 68% off.

Beastmaster is not in Classic: positions 1–5, which holds the 18 most popular heroes per position, but each row fits 20 portraits — add Beastmaster to the “3 · OFFLANE” row with “+ Hero” and the portraits keep their size.

In the OpenDota snapshot of 23 Sept 2026 Beastmaster shows up in 92,947 games (115th most played of 127) and wins 45.3% of them (119th).

Rank barely changes the picture: 45.0% at Herald–Crusader and 46.5% at Ancient–Divine. Players pick Beastmaster more than usual at Herald (+21%) and less at Ancient (−9%).
